These chatbots are communicating as compared to live human talking to customers. Different chatbots have a positive impact on various kinds of business. They have been observed to have the capacity to boost customer engagement, convert visitor traffic and increase sales. AI-powered chatbots have optimized customer experience by analyzing customers purchase history and behaviour to predict their current needs. Gartner has predicted that 85% of customer engagement would be done without human intervention in the near future. And by 2020, 80% of businesses aspire to integrate chatbots in their operations. Now, there are two categories of Chatbots:
Rule-Oriented Chatbots: It works on the basis of a specific set of rules and such chatbots can only respond when they get a command which is known to them. If a user types in a command which is not known, then it will automatically notify the user that it does not understand. So while engaging with this type of chatbots, one needs to be specific and precise with the commands which can be found out by typing in the help command within the interface.
AI Powered Chatbots: These work on the basis of AI, machine learning and are more efficient than the Rule-Oriented chatbots. They understand any command typed in the help boxes, predict customer needs and respond as per the information derived from past interactions.
A chatbot’s programming and technology, by far, depends a lot upon the customer base it is going to serve. Different types of chatbots are available or can be developed to cater to every different sector and simplify the way businesses interact with customers.
